My Journey

I have lived with anxiety for 15 years. 10 of them silently.

I have met with doctors, psychologists and psychiatrists along the years. Some more effective than others. I was told I was exaggerating and to suck it up. I have been prescribed medicine. Many advised holistic medicine. I tried it all.

I have lost friendships along the way. Missed beautiful opportunities with family, friends, and work. Pushed myself out of my comfort zone too far too often. Felt deep loneliness and sadness.

I decided to learn more about the deep connections between body and mind, specifically in the space of anxiety. Along the way I learnt a number of things I believe can help you.

I’m Astrid, a certified Integrative Health Coach, Mental Health First Aider, and a Motivational Coach. I’m also a mum of two young children, a wife, and a manager at an international company. And I feel anxious too.

I’m here to coach you to understand your anxiety and what it’s trying to tell you. You will learn how to listen to it when it’s protecting you, ignore it when it’s not helping you, and play with it to see it’s boundaries and limitations.

I’ll help you on your journey to doing the things you love with those you love.

My Anxiety Coaching Philosophy

It’s not all about a cure

Your anxiety journey should not be about finding the cure. It can be about understanding what your body and mind is trying to tell you through the anxiety. Ultimately you can decide how you respond to your anxiety.

Speak up about it

The more silent you are about your anxiety, the more power you give it. Learn to share clearly how you are feeling and to ask for what you need to those around you.

I understand

Many say they understand anxiety. However, I fundamentally believe that only when you have truly experienced anxiety do you know what it feels like. I’ve been there and I understand.

I can help you with your anxiety

  • An in-depth individual personalised plan based on your Health History. We will focus on coaching you through key areas of maximum impact for change.

    • Option of a one-off 60 minute session or multiple sessions.

    • The first 45 minute intake is on me

  • Group workshops that are designed to:

    • gain clarity on what anxiety is

    • begin to understand what lies behind the anxiety

    • gain practical tools to get started in building a healthier relationship to anxiety

  • 2 hour group sessions of maximum 5 individuals that are designed to discuss your common anxiety-related questions and to support each other through your personal concerns.

    • A 3 month journey consisting of 2 sessions of 120 minutes per month.

    • The first one-on-one 45 minute intake is on me

    • Sessions run based on sufficient individuals signed up.

  • If you are based around the Amsterdam (The Netherlands) area and are having difficulties leaving your home due to anxiety, get in touch. A face to face visit is an option.
